A sleeping dad (as seen through the peephole) opens to include a messy bedroom, with mum in hairnet, clothes spilling from drawers and scattered toys. The tone is very English and comfortably domestic, and luscious details abound -- the clutter of sentimental objects, clothes drying by the fire, pets underfoot, and the tangle of generations living in a house that feels like home.
