From chapters.ca:Anne Shirley has just been left at the train station, waiting for her new adoptive parent Matthew Cuthbert. The problem is that Matthew and his sister Marilla are expecting a boy, rather than the irrepressible redheaded girl they now see before them. They decide to take her in until the mistake has been corrected, but she ends up in their hearts and ours.
The series continues with Anne of Avonlea, Anne of the Island, Anne of Windy Poplars, Anne's House of Dreams, Anne of Ingleside, Rainbow Valley, and Rilla of Ingleside.
