This trilogy is one that I have read many times and still enjoy today.
Starting in Dragonsong, Menolly loves music and has a talent for it. When her talent is denied by her family she runs away and rediscovers her planet's fire lizards before she is found by another hold and comes to the attention of the master harper of Pern.
