There is a despondent bird and a cheerful dog with a green convertible who is determined to cheer the bird up. While the bird paints eleven ladders ten colours a goat in a spiffy jacket and some other interesting characters try to find a way to cheer up the bird. A strange book, but what else would you expect from Lemony Snicket?
