Miri is 14 and small for her age. When the representatives of the crown come to her remote mountain village, only a territory of the kingdom, to announce that the future bride to the heir to the throne will be chosen from her community everyone is shocked. There is some resistance to the Princess Academy by the girls and their families, but the Academy must progress and a future queen will be chosen.
